| The Americans introduced trout to Panama
during the Canal Days, and they loved it. Eventually, trout were
spawned in every river in the country (and there are lots of them).
Trout farms are abundant, and this one is just across the river
from my property, is a trout farm where you can fish for $2.50 plus
$1 per fish you catch and keep (catch and release is no charge).
My friend Gary took me there one day recently, and I caught 5 (but
they were only 1-2 pounds so I tossed them back. BIG ones are about
5 pounds). There’s a guy who fishes every day from a nearby
river, and in the afternoon you will see him on the side of the
road displaying his catch. You can buy them for $1 apiece. |
