Ecuador Under My Skin

In May of 2008 I returned to Cuenca to get further acquainted with this beautiful place.   A fun thing there is to see people walking their cows to the riverbanks to graze.

It is strange to see cows between the road and the river.....

These rivers are right downtown....as I stepped out of a cab at the Sushi restaurant on the river, I saw this young man casting his net in the river in hopes of a trout dinner catch.

I wander the city, endlessly finding charming plazas beside big cathedrals with statues or fountains in the center.  Here's one with both, plus the ubiquitus pidgeon on his perch.
